Transient Accommodation Tax

Council approved a 5 year Agreement effective Jan 1, 2019 to Jan 1, 2022 for the Niagara Falls Canada Hotel Association (NFCHA) to charge a Hotel Tax on accommodations in the amount of $2 per room per night on accommodations only. NFCHA is a non-profit corporation consisting exclusively of the proprietors of hotels and motels located in Niagara Falls to oversee the collection and allocation of the Hotel Transient Accommodation Tax Fund for the express purpose of promoting Niagara Falls, Ontario as a tourism destination.
