Niagara’s newest brewery offers 11 different beers on tap

Blackburn Brewhouse opens in the Montrose Business Park, located in a brand new building at 8001 Blackburn Parkway the industrial development boasts over 40,000 sq.ft. of floor space. Blackburn Brewhouse also has their own canning, bottling and kegging lines to offer co-brewing capacity to brew various size beer batches for customers regardless of business size. “Our brewmaster, Kevin Gray, who is a local Niagara guy, has 29 years' experience brewing,” said George Hantziagelis, owner and operator of the region’s newest brewery, Blackburn Brew House, located in the south end of Niagara Falls near Heartland Forest.

“It was a bit of a transitional opening,” explained Hantziagelis, who said they opened as a retail beer store first, then expanded with a patio where they spent the tail end of the summer serving fresh from their taps. When the weather cooled in mid-October, they turned their attention to the indoor space.

“We’ve been indoors for about four weeks now,” said Hantziagelis from the sprawling new indoor dining and drinking area, which also offers a view of the facility’s massive brewing setup through giant floor-to-ceiling windows. “We were going for an open concept where you can see the whole process.”

George Hantziagelis, together with his two business partners, Andy Burt and Amyn Kassam, opened up Blackburn Brewhouse in July.
