Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy Opens in Niagara Falls

Dave Griffiths has long had an interest in athletics and helping athletes play at their highest level. But while athletes — both elite and amateur, make up a sizeable chunk of the practice that he and his wife Amanda recently opened at Niagara Falls, Griffiths' focus is also on the general population and helping them in their performance, whether it be on the field or in regular life.

The physiotherapy venture is a family-run business located at the Five Corners, which launched last July. The company employs two full-time staff, one part-time staff member and a contractor, and provides a variety of physiotherapy services for injury recovery and treatment of pain.

David Griffith has over 10 years’ experience in the sports medicine industry, and has seen all types of athletes with all different ranges of injuries from necks, to ankles and everything in between. At Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy they teach patients how to move in ways that don’t damage your body.

People often don’t realize that the way they’ve always moved, or the way they’ve shifted into moving, is less than optimal and sometimes damaging. Griffiths said that he takes a biomechanical approach to helping people move more efficiently.

Prior to opening his own clinic, Griffiths worked out of the Niagara Health and Rehab Centre in Niagara Falls. Originally trained in kinesiology, Griffiths has also worked out of clinics in Welland, Fonthill and Fort Erie.

With his own practice, which he co-owns with Amanda, Griffiths is able to set his own pace, which means one-on-one approaches.
