Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. celebrates its 100thAnniversary in the Niagara Falls Community. Since 1915, Niagara Falls’ local Hydro service provider has delivered a reliable, sustainable source of power that currently provides power to over 50,000 businesses and residents throughout Niagara Falls, Lincoln, Pelham and West Lincoln. Serving an area of over 827 square kilometres, NPEI has the third largest service territory and the second highest number of agricultural electricity customers in all of Ontario. Since its inception, NPEI has introduced several projects designed to help its commercial customers save money and minimize their impact on the environment. With the Small Business Lighting Program eligible businesses can receive a free assessment of their lights, and get up to $2,000 in incentives towards an upgrade to energy efficient lighting. There’s also a Retrofit Program which encourages commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural companies to conserve energy. This program is particularly designed to help firms replace older equipment and components like lights, fans and motors through a wide range of incentives.
